VideoCallTest is built so that your camera and microphone data never leave your device.

Camera, microphone and speakers

• All tests run locally in your web browser.
• We do not record, store, transmit or upload your video, audio, test recordings or photos.
• Test recordings and photos are held only in your browser's memory so you can play or save them, and are discarded when you leave the page.
• Clicking Stop or closing the tab turns your camera and microphone off.
• You can revoke camera and microphone permission any time from your browser's site settings.

Device information

Details such as your camera name, resolution or microphone sample rate are read by your browser to show the results. They are not sent to us.

Anonymous visit statistics

To understand how many people use the site, we count page views, which buttons are clicked (for example "Test my camera"), whether a page stayed open for a few seconds, and whether the page was used at all (scrolled, tapped or typed in — not where or what). We don't use cookies or store anything on your device for this, the statistics don't store your IP address, and we never record test results, video or audio. Visits are counted with a daily-changing anonymous code, so they can't be linked across days or to you.

Microsoft Clarity

We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the pages — for example where people click and how far they scroll — so we can make the site easier to use. Clarity uses cookies and collects usage data such as clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, device and browser type, and approximate location. The camera, microphone and speaker test areas are hidden from Clarity, so your camera picture, device names, recordings and photos are never sent to it. This data is collected and processed by Microsoft; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can block it with your browser's cookie or tracking-protection settings, and the tests keep working.

Server logs

Like any website, our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, page requested and time) for security and to keep the site running. These logs contain no camera or microphone data and are deleted after 30 days.

Cookies

We don't use advertising cookies. Microsoft Clarity (see above) sets cookies to understand how the site is used.

Some pages link to other websites. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave VideoCallTest.
